Llangollen

Renowned for the surrounding hills, the River Dee and International Musical Eisteddfod (well worth a visit and takes place during the 2nd week of July each year), Llangollen has something for every visitor. This small town has a wealth of independent shops to browse and interesting places to visit. Attractions include a stroll along the Victoria Promenade, a Riverside Park, steam railway, a horse-drawn boat along the canal, Castell Dinas Brân – a medieval castle. (13 miles from Llys Onnen)

Chester

The historic city of Chester is only 17 miles away and well worth a visit. Chester has the most complete city walls , the oldest race course and largest Roman Amphitheatre in Britain, plus a 1000 year old cathedral and 700 year old unique shopping rows.

Chester is also home to Chester Zoo, the UK’s number one zoo which is the most visited visitor attraction outside of London.
